What the page is for

Viewer script output is a page in the Lavawall® console, in the Remote support area. Lavawall is the RMM, security, and compliance platform from ThreeShield, built and hosted in Canada. About this feature.

Organizations that require end-to-end encryption protect script output so that only their own technicians can read it. If you use the Lavawall Viewer, you read that output in the viewer. For the viewer to open it, your Lavawall browser extension must approve the viewer once. You normally do this while you connect the viewer. This page is for the times you did not, or you use another browser.

What you see

  • Your Lavawall Viewers: a short explanation and the three steps to approve a viewer.
  • A Filter box and a Refresh button.
  • The table: Computer (the Windows computer your viewer runs on), Status (Approved by your extension, Not approved yet or Retired (still opens its earlier output)), Key made and Last used. Select a column heading to sort. Times show in your local time.
  • On each row: Connect to my extension, Retire and Revoke completely.

How to approve a viewer for script output

  1. In the Lavawall Viewer, open Help and choose Connection code.
  2. In the console, open Viewer script output in the Remote support section of the menu.
  3. Find the viewer's computer in the list and click Connect to my extension.
  4. Type the code the viewer shows into the extension window.
  5. The page confirms "Connected. The viewer can now read your script output." and the status changes to Approved by your extension.

If the list is empty, pair and connect the viewer first; see Lavawall Viewer.

How to stop a viewer from receiving new output

  1. To stop offering a viewer for new scripts, click Retire on its row and confirm. It can still open output it already received.
  2. If the computer is lost or the person has left, click Revoke completely and confirm. The viewer is refused at once and can no longer open any script output, earlier output included.

Tips

  • Approve each viewer once. Last used shows when a viewer last opened output.
  • Use Retire when you replace a computer, and keep Revoke completely for a lost computer or a person who has left.
  • You read the output of the same runs on Script Execution Status, where Open in the Lavawall extension hands it to the extension.
