What the extension does
Fill logins
On a sign-in page, the extension lists the logins saved for that site. Click Fill to enter the username and password.
One-time codes
See the current code with the seconds it has left, then copy it or fill it when the site asks. The password and the code are never filled by the same click.
Generate passwords
Choose the length and character types, check the strength shown in bits of entropy, and copy a new password.
Search your vault
Find any item by name without opening the console, or show everything in the vault from the extension.
Install it and connect it in three steps
- Add Lavawall Vault from the Chrome Web Store.
- Click the Lavawall button in your browser’s toolbar and choose Open the console and get a code.
- Paste the code into the extension and click Connect this browser. Each browser, and each profile within a browser, is connected separately, and you can remove one at any time in the console.

Built to keep your secrets private
Your vault is encrypted in your browser before it reaches Lavawall, so Lavawall’s servers cannot read what is in it. Items in collections marked for servers are never filled into web pages. For IT teams and managed service providers, the extension also holds each technician’s own keys on the technician’s device, and they are never shared with Lavawall’s servers.
Remote support still works in your browser without the extension. With it installed, the session keys stay with it, which is why organizations with the strictest requirements choose it.

Common questions
- Where do I get the Lavawall Vault extension?
- From the Chrome Web Store. Search for Lavawall Vault, or use the button on this page.
- Does the extension work without a Lavawall Vault subscription?
- The extension is a companion to the Lavawall Vault. It connects to your organization’s vault, so your organization needs the Password Vault and your account needs access to it.
- How do I connect the extension to my vault?
- Click the Lavawall button in your browser’s toolbar, choose Open the console and get a code, then paste the code into the extension. You do this once for each browser profile.
- Can the extension see my passwords?
- Your vault is encrypted in your browser. The extension works with the same encrypted vault, and Lavawall’s servers cannot read what is in it.
- Do I need the extension to use remote support?
- No. Remote support works in your browser without it. Organizations with the strictest requirements use the extension to keep the session keys with the technician instead of passing through Lavawall’s servers.
